Motion Computing J3500 Rugged Tablet PC

Motion Computing launches its newest J3500 rugged tablet PC for mobile workers. The new J3500 features a 12.1-inch capacitive dual touch display with LED-backlit and Gorilla glass. Optional ViewAnywhere screen can be equipped for outdoor use.
 Motion’s J3500 is boosted by Intel’s Core i7 or i5 processor, 2GB of RAM (max 4GB) and 160GB hard drive or optional 64GB/128GB SSD. It supports WiFi and comes with optional integrated Gobi2000 mobile broadband with GPS. The tablet pc also includes increased security with fully manageable hard drive encryption, and Intel Anti-Theft technology used with Computrace, protecting valuable data in case of loss or theft.
 The J3500 meets MIL-STD-810G and IP-52 ratings to ensure protection against bumps, drops, rain or other conditions. It starts at $2299.

Motion Computing C5v and F5v Rugged Tablet PCs with Intel Anti-Theft

In addition to the J3500, Motion Computing also brings the C5v Mobile Clinical Assistant (MCA) and F5v mobile field tablet PC. Both of them have a rugged design and meet MIL-STD-810G and IP-52 or IP-54 ratings. They include the Intel Anti-Theft Technology (Intel AT) with built-in intelligence to disable the tablet in the event that it is lost or stolen.
 Powered by Intel Core i5 or i7 processor, the C5v and F5v get 1GB of RAM and 160GB hard drive or optional 64GB SSD. They have integrated WiFi 802.11b/g/n connectivity and can be equipped with Gobi 2000 mobile broadband module. Other options available include 1D/2D barcode scanner, 13.56MHz RFID reader with ISO 15693 support, 3 Megapixel camera, front-facing camera.
Motion’s C5v and F5v both sport 10.4-inch 1024×768 LED-backlit display with Gorilla glass and optional ViewAnywhere. They start at $2299 and $2548 respectively.

SandForce SF-1000 SSD Processor

SandForce announced the SF-1000 SSD processor family, which is designed to build SSDs that deliver better performance. The SF-1000 SSD processor features SandForce’s DuraClass technology that “deliver world-class SSD reliability, performance, and power efficiency that differentiate SandForce SSD Processors from standard flash controllers”.

The SandForce SF-1000 supports both MLC and SLC flash-based SSDs. It offers a standard 3 gigabit-per-second SATA host interface connecting up to 512 gigabytes of commodity NAND flash memory. It delivers 30K IOPS (random 4K read or write transfers), and 250MB/s performance (sequential 128KB read or write transfers) with 100 micro-second latency.

Corsair S256 2.5-inch 256GB SSD

After the 128GB S128 SSD, Corsair is going to release its new S256 2.5-inch 256GB Solid State Drive that is based on Samsung’s Flash memory and Samsung S3C29RBB01-YK40 controller. Like the S128, Corsair S256 uses SATA 3.0Gb/s interface. It has 64MB cache memory.
